On November 1st, Prof.Lifeng Xi, Executive Dean of ME and Prof.Yingzheng Liu, Vice Dean of ME met with the delegation led by Professor AbhiDeshmukh, Head of Industrial Engineering, Purdue University. The two parties discussed about student exchange &cooperative education programs and established a fruitful cooperation.

After reviewing the ten year cooperation, Prof.AbhiDeshmukh gave a brief introduction of core value and academic system of Industrial Engineering, Purdue University. The two parties intended to exchange junior students each semester and had a detailed discussion on the number of exchange student, curriculum etc.. Pro. Lifeng Xi encouraged professors from Purdue to take sabbaticals to teach English courses or summer semesters at ME, SJTU.

The delegation visited laboratories and 3D SJTU model to learn ME’s latest research findings. The two parties looked forward to extending cooperation between Purdue University and SJTU. It is estimated that there will be large-scale student/academics exchange programs in 2015.
