Jan. 18st witnessed the SJTU-Yangtze River Never Forgetting Source Scholarship Awarding Ceremony. Those attending the ceremony included Prof. Fei Xu, Deputy Party Secretary of SJTU, Prof. Zhongqin Lin, the Executive Vice President of SJTU, Jian Zhu, Secretary-General of the Steering Committee of Student Employment, Lei Ma, Director of the Office of School Development and Liaison, Jie Yin, Deputy Director of the Office of School Development and Liaison, Prof. Lifeng Xi, Executive Dean of ME, Jingyi Wu, Associate Dean of ME, Prof. Xiangyang Zhu, Prof. Guanlong Chen, Executive Vice President of Automotive Engineering Research Institute, and Xin Zhao, Director of Student Affairs. Yanmin Tao, Secretary of CPC Community of ME, hosted the ceremony. 

Before the ceremony, a video was played of the donor of the SJTU-Yangtze River Never Forgetting Source Scholarship, Prof. Zhongqin Lin. On the ceremony, Lei Ma, Director of the Office of School Development and Liaison, delivered an opening speech and introduced the background music of the video. After Jian Zhu, Secretary-General of the Steering Committee of Student Employment, announced the names of the 16 awarded students, Prof. Fei Xu, Deputy Party Secretary of SJTU and Prof. Zhongqin Lin, the Executive Vice President of SJTU, presented certificates to the 16 students.

After the award presentation ceremony, on behalf of all the awarded, Ming Wei and Wei Zeng delivered acceptance speech. They expressed their appreciation and gratification to SJTU and Prof. Zhongqin Lin, exchanged their experience in their research and study, and promised to work even harder to do more to their alma mater and society.

After the students' speech, Prof. Zhongqin Lin encouraged the awarded students and said that it was the team work of their scientific research team that attributed to his winning of the Yangtze River Scholar Achievement Award. The Scholarship, based on the finance of the Yangtze River Scholar Achievement Award, was aimed at helping poor while well-performing students both in study and scientific innovation. Meanwhile, Vice President Zhongqin Lin suggested to award-winning students, saying that first, he hoped the students would love the engineering studies, be dedicated to engineering research, and could derive fun from their study; second, he wished that students could strive for excellence to their best in learning and research; third, he advised that students should not pay much attention to personal fame, and could make their own contribution to the country, and the university.

At last, Prof. Fei Xu made a speech. In his speech, he expressed great gratification to Vice President Zhongqin Lin. He hoped that all winning students could adhere to the traditional spiritual core of SJTU with a grateful heart, and promote social harmony and make their own contribution to human progress.

Prof. Zhongqin Lin is China's leading expert in the field of automotive engineering, and he has been very concerned about the growth and training of the students. The SJTU-Yangtze River Never Forgetting Source Schorlarship is founded on Prof. Lin's winning prize of the "Yangtze River Scholar Achievement Award", and he donated the prize money, 100 million, completely to found the scholarship. The scholarship has two integral parts, namely, Motivational Scholarship and Scientific and Technological Innovation Scholarship.
