On Nov 18, Professor Lifeng Xi, Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (ME-SJTU) and Professor Yingzheng Liu, Associate Dean of ME-SJTU in charge of international cooperation visited the University of Pennsylvania and signed a memorandum of understanding between Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Mechanical Engineering and University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science. Professor Joseph Sun, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Upenn and professor  Vijay Kumar, Deputy Dean for Education, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Upenn together signed the document.

Based on the principle of mutual benefit, both sides agreed to carry out collabration in the following aspects: specially designed degree-twinning initiatives (3+2 program and 2+2+1 program), exchange of undergraduates (undergraduate course design, graduation design and collaborative research),exchange of graduate students(Post-graduate Study Abroad Program supported by China Scholarship Council and dual training program) and exchange of faculty and researchers.
