On Sep 1st, 2010,  over 170 teachers from ME-SJTU witnessed the cooperation signing ceremony between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Jiangsu Jinsheng Industry Stock Co., Ltd. Mr. XI Wenbiao, Mayor of Jintan City, Mr. PAN Xueping, CEO of Jinsheng Industry, Professor LIN Zhongqin, Vice President of SJTU gave speeches on the ceremony. Furthermore, Mr. PAN Xueping was appointed as Member of Strategic Development Advisory Committe, ME-SJTU.

Professor LIN Zhongqin stated that, based on the cooperation, ME-SJTU is expected to provide strong tech support to the enterprise; meanwhile, Jinsheng Industry is supposed to contribute itself to the strategic development of university. Mr. PAN Xueping believed, the collaboration is sure to promote mutual development of both sides and enhance win-win strategy for production, teaching and research. The Mayor introduced recent development and latest achievements of Jintan City and hoped that through the broad cooperation between enterprise and university, local economic and technical development is expected to be spurred.

The next day, professors from ME-SJTU and technicians from Jinsheng Industry carried out roundtable in-depth communication, during which professors introduced their research areas and technicians raised questions on R&D problems. Both sides had heated discussion and reached initial consensus toward future collaboration.
