On June 9, Professor John Sullivan from School of Aeronautics and Astronautics,Purdue University gave a speech on The State of the art of Pressure and Temperature Sensitive Paint.
 
He has been professor and director of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Purdue University sine 1975. His interests include experimental aerodynamics,laser instrumentation and Luminescent sensors for temperature and pressure measurements.
 
Current research interest is in the area of experimental aerodynamics with particular emphasis on comparison of experimental data with computational analysis. Current programs include high lift systems and suction/blowing airfoils.In addition to the above programs, work also continues on developing laser instrumentation (laser Doppler velocimeter, particle image velocimeter, laser sheet concentration, etc.) and pressure and temperature paint for:Wind tunnels - low speed to hypersonic;Gas turbine engines;Flight tests.
