Research Background
- Modeling of combustion phenomena
- Control of combustion and flow phenomena (active and passive)
- Advanced measurement techniques in fluid mechanics and combustion technology
- Heat transfer and transport in boundary layers. Influence of a thermal stratification on the turbulent quantities of the boundary layer and the dispersion of pollutants in stratified atmospheric flows
- Modeling and simulation of (unsteady) turbulent flows
- Active and passive control of turbulent flows
- Analytical, numerical and experimental investigation of flow instabilities, vortex breakdown, three dimensional flows
- Control of complex systems
- Aerodynamics of vessels (e.g. trains, aircrafts) with focus on the noise generation
- Modeling and simulation of the noise emissions from vessels
- Measurement techniques to locate moving noise sources (advanced array technique)
