Choked jet interaction with perpendicular flat plate

Abstract:

 
When a jet exhausts from convergent nozzle with the stagnation pressure high enough, the flow becomes underexpanded or choked.  Impingement of such jet on a flat plate placed perpendicular to the jet axis is known to cause some curious and interesting flow phenomena in the jet.  One of the phenomena is the occurrence of separation bubble in the impinging region in front of the plate.The lecture is about the flow structure causing the separation bubble and some other phenomena associated with it.
